It was 2nd November 1965; an Indian Muslim family which celebrated the birth of eternal divine and undying soul of love. The soothing and serene essence of romance just began then. It was the lucky Tuesday which saw the birth of Shahrukh Khan, popularly known as "SRK". Endowed with the award of "Sword of Honour"-the award given to the best student of the year; Shahrukh did his Economics (Hons.) from the Hansraj College at Delhi University (DU) and later joined his passion of acting by entering the Indian cinema ‘Bollywood’.

The journey of struggle as well as success started when SRK, did his first daily soap “Fauji” on doordarshan channel, which gave him instant recognition. He also acted in another daily soap called ‘Circus’, which was a hit again.

SRK's success reached to the heights of skyscrapers overnight by the smashing hit of his first debut "Deewana", which earned him his first Filmfare award for the best debutant male. Canvassed against Vidya Bharti, Shahrukh made his presence felt among the huge mass. With lots of fan following and success, SRK got vexed with the controversy of "Maya Memsaab" for having explicit sex scenes but then too Shahrukh never stopped. Awarded with the title of the best actor in the negative role thrice for "Baazigar", "Anjaam" and "Darr"; Shahrukh proved his flexibility and versatility to the critics.

His popular dialogue, "K..K..K..Kirann" was largely gloated over by the audience and he made his fans bulge out their eyes when he pushed her girlfriend "Seema"(played by Shilpa Shetty) down a multistoried building in his second blockbuster "Baazigar"; which fetched him an award for the best actor in the negative role.

Giving a huge success on the box- office, "Chamatkar" proved his acting skills with Urmila Mantodkar; SRK never looked back and his forthcoming projects with Juhi Chawla earned him an outstanding achievement with "Yess Boss" and "Duplicate".
After getting married to Gauri, his love in 1993, the lucky charm stamped it’s presence in whatever project SRK started. His recognition as a lover boy made thousands of females drench their hearts and a huge fan following.

Then came the blockbuster hit of the Bollywood ever, "Dilwale duhaniyan le jayenge"(DDLJ). The movie not only marked well in India and overseas but became the highest grossing movie of the year. His pairing with Kajol was a tremendous ingredient of success in future projects as well. SRK played the role of an NRI ‘Raj’ who falls in love with the college-going Simran(Kajol) and hence DDLJ became the most romantic movie of the decade and earned him his second award for the best actor.

This sisila went on and Karan Johar’s debute as a Director "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" in 1998 also marked the same response from India and overseas. His role as a father of an eight year old Anjali, who once unknowingly fell in love with his best friend Anjali during college days, won him respect, titles and love. Playing a college student as Rahul, his pairing with Kajol as "Anjali" brought him tributes.

However the year 2000 the millennium, made him unnoticed. His "One two ka 4" and "Phir bhi dil hai hindusatni" went flop. He bounced back with Subash Ghai's "Pardes", playing Arjun against Ganga (Mahima Chaudhary), yet another heart throb. His coupling with Kajol and Karan Johar’s directed, "Kabhi khushi Kabhi Gham" in 2001 was another block buster. His role of Rahul Raichand fetched enormous sensation and won him another Filmfare award for the best actor.

Now being recognised as the eternal soul of love and romance, SRK is ruling the Bollywood as King Khan. This "Badshah" lured the audience by acting as a severe heart patient in "Kal ho Naa ho"who falls in love with Naina (Priety Zinta); though refusing to accept his dedication for her and sacrificing his love for Rohit (Saif Ali Khan). With such sacrifice of love and making a middle class American family live happily; SRK turned into an "angle of love". His next flick with Karan Johar was "Kabhi Alvida naa Kehna" marked the multiplexes with the houseful shows.

SRK's next comeback was "My name is Khan". Being Rizwan Khan having ‘Asperger syndrome’ and falling in love with Mandira (Kajol) was another block buster of 2010.

SRK's "Raa:one" which has been released this Deepawali is doing a great business on the box office.

SRK revived the calmness of soul, the tenderness of heart, the magic of love and essence of romance. "Hail SRK hail"..!!!
