Acid thrown on female teachers in Quetta

  • Unidentified people threw acid on the faces of four female teachers on the outskirts of Quetta on Saturday.

    According to police, four female school teachers Fareeda, Suria, Fazila and Sajida were on their way to home in Kalli Allam Khan, on the outskirts of Quetta, when unknown persons riding a motorbike threw acid on their faces.

    Resultantly, they received burn injuries and were taken to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital for medical aid.

    Hospital sources said the victims had received burn injuries on different parts of body including face, however, their condition is stable. The assailants escaped from the site after committing the crime.

    On getting the information, the police rushed to the area and started investigation into the incident.

    Prior to this incident, some unidentified people had also thrown acid on three girls in Kalat and two girls in Dalbandin towns of Balochistan last year.

    The incidents were widely condemned throughout the Balochistan by nationalist forces and other political parties.

    Meanwhile, two people including a woman were killed and two others sustained injuries in the name of honour in Naseerabad district of Balochistan on Saturday.

    According to police, unidentified people shot dead two persons including a woman and wounded two others in Gott Bahar Chowki within the limits of Saddar police station Dera Murad Jamali.

    The attackers managed to flee from the scene after committing the crime. The deceased were identified as Gul and Dhani Bakhsh. “The incident appears to be a case of honour killing,” a police official said.

    Police have registered a case and started further investigation into the incident.
